Bay Area Urban
Manufacturing Initiative

SFMade created the Bay Area Urban Manufacturing (BAUM) Initiative, a
26-city public coalition focused on building a more powerful, interconnected regional manufacturing system in the Bay Area, partnered with Katie to host a 600-person summit in West Oakland, California.

The Summit, which was housed in an abandoned warehouse - that was temporarily resurrected from stem to stern by Katie through partnerships with local officials and vendors - featured a number of key state and local leaders, including Senator Diane Feinstein, District 18 Assembly Member Rob Bonta and Oakland Mayor, Libby Schaaf.

The Summit provided a unique opportunity for its guests to celebrate the historic collaboration of Bay Area cities in an effort to grow middle-class job opportunities and create a more equitable and diverse economy.
